For decades humans have been pushing limits in motorsport. While many have dreams and visions of completing death-defying feats, few are able to push past the constraints of fear after assessing the risks.
Others choose to put fear aside and leap into the unknown; one of those people is Bryce Menzies. For months Menzies and his crew have been preparing to break the world record distance of 332ft [101m] by jumping a Pro2 truck over an entire ghost town.
After a series of off-site test jumps and countless hours of truck modification, the crew converged on the site to begin final preparations for the record-breaking jump. During training, Menzies managed to smash the world record by jumping his truck 379.2ft [115.6m], besting the current record by almost 50ft [15.2m].
Upon completing the record jump, Menzies and his crew continued to train as they looked to beat their own record live on Red Bull TV. Unfortunately, he experienced a crash during one of the final training jumps.
We broke a world record, which is incredible, we went 379 feet flying a truck. This has been my dream and to see it come to life was surreal – it was one of the greatest moments of my life

The truck was severely damaged and Menzies suffered a fractured shoulder, preventing him from moving forward with Saturday’s live event. Menzies was taken to a local hospital, assessed and released the same day.
Despite the injury and being forced to cancel the live show, Menzies is in great spirits, knowing what he and the crew achived, “I’m extremely happy with the outcome,” he said, “We broke a world record, which is incredible, we went 379 feet flying a truck. This has been my dream and to see it come to life was surreal – it was one of the greatest moments of my life. I’m so glad I did it. I came away with a broken shoulder, that’s not bad at all, and I’m just glad I’m in the record books.”
