Bobby Brown is an international freeskiing sensation and one of the sport’s pioneers. As an 18-year-old, Bobby became the first skier to win back-to-back gold medals at a single Winter X Games by throwing down an incredible performance in Slopestyle and two never-before-seen tricks in Big Air (where he also earned the event’s first-ever perfect score).
The freeskier, known as BB, has stood atop the podium at the Winter Action Sports Tour, the New Zealand Freeski Open, the Junior Freeski World Championships, the Winter X Games and the Winter Dew Tour. At the 2010 Winter Dew tour finals, he made history by becoming the first person to land a Switch Double Misty 1440.
Also possessing mad skills in Halfpipe, this phenomenal triple-threat has been called “the single most dominant park skier in the world” – and his breathtaking manoeuvres and charismatic presence on camera have helped to expand the freestyle fanbase.
In 2014, he qualified to be part of Team USA at the Winter Games' first-ever slopestyle skiing event in Sochi. Although he came ninth in the final ranking, he was stoked to see his team-mates Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy and Nicholas Goepper take the top spots. Bobby returned in 2015 with even more passion and verve. This culminated in second-place finishes at the Big Air event at the Winter X Games 19 and the Jon Olssen Invitational, and a first-place finish at The 7th Annual Dumont Cup.
In 2016, Bobby took home another silver medal in the X-Games Big Air competition, got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Nikki Gallen and filmed his lauded short film and internet sensation, Be Water. In the film Brown and his buddies leave the park and explore different terrain, building and hitting some of the biggest backcountry booters out there.
Still a fierce competitor with his eyes set on the podium in every competition he enters, Bobby continues to prove that his multi-threat talent is still very, very real with each podium and video part.
