Despite TV coverage of the big races of the ski season, most people don't get the chance to understand and witness exactly how extreme downhill skiing really is.
Utilising specialised camera systems, Antimedia wanted to capture Aksel’s performance in unique ways. Via the combination of advanced sound design and custom onboard cameras, we now get the chance to experience what it really is to be a world champion skier in an incredibly detailed sequence at Kvitfjell in Aksel's native Norway.
Aksel had a horrific crash at Beaver Creek back in 2007 and this film also recaptures that run. It is testament to the Norwegian's mental strength and determination that he was able to come back from that to win more major titles.
Indeed, Svindal was victorious yet again at Lake Louise in Canada less than a fortnight ago in the Super G, which was his sixth World Cup win at that venue and his 22nd overall. That was swiftly followed by a win in the Downhill at Beaver Creek last weekend – Aksel's fourth podium finish in Downhill at that venue.
The world champion has also been speaking to The Red Bulletin about his latest off-piste movie project Supervention, which you can read all about here.
