First introduced to the game by her mother Anju at the age of six, Tania Sachdev won her first international title two years later. She's been ranked in the top 50 women’s chess players as per the FIDE world chess rankings and became the eighth Indian Woman Grandmaster.
Tania topped the Asian Chess Championship in 2008 with 6½ points out of nine rounds, a victory that spurred her on to take up chess professionally.
