Born in Bremen, Germany in 2004, but brought up in Naxos, Greece, Lennart Neubauer started watching the windsurfers riding waves outside of his window from a very young age. As a result, it became his dream to take up the sport professionally.
That journey began when he was just 10 years old and went with his mother to the windsurf club to ask if he could give it a try. Unfortunately the answer was disappointing; they told him that he needed to weigh at least 30kg because of the strength of the winds at Naxos.
Although he returned home disappointed, he was determined to get out on a board soon and set himself the goal of putting on the 3kg that he needed. He altered his diet over the winter and come April 1, when the windsurf club reopened its doors, the young athlete got his first taste of windsurfing.
From that point on, it was difficult to get him back on dry land and Lennart has developed into a highly skilled windsurf freestyler, with event wins and championship titles starting to fill up his trophy cabinet, including victory at the Freestyle Pro Tour Final 2024 at his home event in Naxos, which made him the first Greek champion of the PWA Freestyle Tour.
