Having followed older brother Matija and younger brother Martin into the sport of rowing as a relatively late starter, after an injury that kept him out of football for a while, Valent Sinković has taken to the water like a natural.
From double sculls to quadruple sculls to the more recent discipline of coxless pairs, Valent and Martin Sinković have racked up a hugely impressive array of silverware and accolades since their first silver medal at the 2008 World Rowing Under 23 Championships.
The headline is probably the trio of golds they have claimed for Croatia – Double Sculls from Rio in 2016, and Coxless Pairs from Tokyo in 2021 and Paris in 2024 – but there's also a slew of World Championship golds to consider, as well those from the European Championships and various World Cups.
The brothers Sinković also broke a world record when they became the first pair to go under six minutes over 2,000m at the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, beating the existing record by four seconds.
They've dominated pretty much every edition of the World Rowing Championships since by claiming numerous victories, suggesting the duo will continue to be a force for many years to come.
