Microsoft and V8 Supercars Australia have combined forces to finally deliver the most complete V8 Supercars experience in the interactive realm we’ve ever had, in the upcoming Forza Motorsport 6.
10 cars in total from all five manufacturers will ship with the game, including our very own 2015 Holden #1 Red Bull Racing Australia VF Commodore, each with their 2015 liveries. Racing legend Mark Skaife, who has been involved with Forza developer Turn 10 for a number of years, joins the game for specialist commentary for the first time, adding both experience and some Aussie flavour to the series.
“Being asked by the Turn 10 team to have my voice in the game is an honour and a privilege,” says a chuffed Skaife. “I’m thrilled to be included in Forza Motorsport 6.”
On top of all the teams and cars, included is also the appropriate drivers in Whincup and Winterbottom as well as all the teams for each manufacturer. Below are the 10 inclusions in the Forza Motorsport 6:
  • 2015 Mercedes-Benz #4 Erebus Motorsports E63 AMG V8 Supercar
  • 2015 Holden #22 Holden Racing Team VF Commodore
  • 2015 Mercedes-Benz #9 Erebus Motorsport E63 AMG V8 Supercar
  • 2015 Volvo #33 Wilson Security Racing GRM S60
  • 2015 Holden #97 Tekno Autosports VF Commodore

“Xbox has always been the home of racing and this partnership further reinforces our commitment to the sport in Australia,” commented head of interactive entertainment at Microsoft in Australia, Jeremy Hinton. “We couldn’t be more excited about having legends such as Mark Skaife in the game and Marcos Ambrose in the driver’s seat of our car, leaving no doubt that Xbox is the only place for racing in 2015.”
We might have to disagree with you there, as far as the track is concerned Jeremy, but where games are concerned, there’s really no other destination for Australian race fans in the current-gen than Forza 6, it seems. Moreover, while Bathurst returns from a successful outing in Forza 5, the next iteration of the game will also sport dynamic weather and night racing which should add a hugely varying amount of challenge across one of the world’s most iconic and equally challenging courses in our very own Mt Panorama.
“We are very proud that our home-grown Australian V8 Championship including drivers and teams from the 2015 season representing each of the five constructors will be featured for the first time in Forza Motorsport 6,” expressed James Warburton, CEO of V8 Supercars Australia. “And [will] be played by millions of racing fans around the world.”
Forza Motorsport 6 is slated to release exclusively for Xbox One on September 15. Stay tuned to Red Bull for more on the game in the coming few weeks ahead of launch for what you can fully expect beyond the V8 inclusion.
