WHAT TO EXPECT
In an F1 race, about twenty mechanics are busy changing tires during the pit stop, three per wheel, two on the jack and several others assigned to essential tasks. The team repeats this operation thousands of times per season, until it becomes second nature, a bit like a skillfully orchestrated choreography. A slight delay, even a tenth of a second, can cost the team the podium.
In the Red Bull Pit Stop Challenge, participants will work in teams of two to change a wheel as quickly as possible. Competitors will race on the chassis of a real F1 car weighing 720 kg using real Oracle Red Bull Racing tools.
THE BIG PRIZE
The 16 teams with the best times will advance to the grand final on Thursday June 15, 2023, on Peel Street in the Red Bull Fan Zone area. Finalists will compete in a series of knockout rounds until only one winning team remains. The prize will consist of an opportunity for each player from the confirmed winning team to be hosted in the Red Bull suites on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit, and Red Bull Racing pit tour (subject to availability).
