Leogang 位在奥地利的阿尔卑斯山区，赛道路线以艰难、漫长而陡峭的爬坡著称。一些车手在 2020 年世锦赛（World Championship）体验到这条赛道，但这是 Leogang 首次举办 World Cup 的 XCO 赛事。奥地利站赛道与前两站捷克及德国的呈现截然不同风格，加上开赛前因气候关系，导致赛道非常湿滑，几位好手因此受伤无法出赛，但正式比赛日当天的多风且阳光明媚，让原先湿滑的赛道变得较干。

地主人气好手 Laura Stigger 表现优秀，不过在最后被来自瑞典的Jenny Rissveds逆转战果，Rissveds获得了亚军，而Stigger则是斩获车涯最佳的第三名成绩，「泡面姊」Jolanda Neff 以第四名重返领奖台，而 Pauline Ferrand-Prévot 最终以第五位作收。

噪音、欢呼声等声音，让比赛现场的气氛高潮不断。随着欧洲逐渐解封，奥地利站开放给有限的车迷们入场，赛后地主选手Laura Stigger 直言，欢呼声回归赛场，并且有观众来到现场参与，真的非常棒，家乡很多人都特别来现场为我加油，给我很大的动力。

年轻好手 Mathieu Van der Poel 与 Tom Pidcock 确定缺席第三站，让 Nino Schurter 很有机会追上Julien Absalon 所保持的33座 World Cup冠军纪录，而且Nino更在本周换上全新战驹 Scott Spark RC bike，似乎准备干大事、赢冠军。

拿下第10名出乎我的意料，我现在需要耐心，并且相信我的能力，至少我现仍保有一定的竞争力。 结果来自瑞士的至尊Nino，首先在XCC仅取得第29名，这意味着他的出发排位在第四排，虽然Nino积极抢攻，不过前方太多「龟速车」挡道，也影响他的表现， 让他无法有效追近领先者，最终以第10名的成绩完赛，不过好消息是，Nino 在第三站的最快速圈，是出现在最后一圈，证明他的体能状况仍还有一定水平。
如前所述，奥地利站的路线特点是爬坡，可能是World Cup赛场上最长的爬坡路线，其技术含量相对较低，很适合耐力佳的选手。像是捷克Ondřej Cink 即是最明显的例子，曾经参与公路车赛的他，很适合奥地利站的路线，另外Mathias Flückiger 也有相同特质。

开赛后Ondřej Cink 和 Mathias Flückiger 两名好手就跑在前头，虽然Anton Cooper也一同身处领先集团，不过他很快就被甩开，而Ondřej Cink 和 Mathias Flückiger 两人纠缠到倒数第二圈，Flückiger 发动一波攻击把差距拉开，最后率先抵达终点摘冠。
