The British have performed some of the most astounding feats at the Hungaroring. In 2006 Nigel Mansell's 17-year-old record of winning from 12th was broken, when British driver Jenson Button powered home from 14th on the grid. In 1986, due in no small part to the determination and chutzpah of Bernie Ecclestone, the Hungarian Grand Prix became the first Formula One race to take place behind the Iron Curtain.Up until 2006 it also had the unusual boast of being the only current Grand Prix venue to have never experienced a wet race.Lewis Hamilton is a four-time winner of the race with victories in 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
