The Red Bull Air Race World Championship features the world’s best race pilots, hurtling at 230mph, navigating air-filled pylons at just 80ft off the ground. Britain’s reigning two times World Champion Paul Bonhomme will be looking for an unprecedented third straight title in 2014. Paul said, “We're excited in Team 55 to be given the green light again to race…and what a venue for the UK race. For 300 years there has been racing at Ascot…what a stunning stunning place to race aeroplanes. I am almost speechless that we'll get to fly around the course that Queen Anne started in 1711…yes, 1711, the year 1711! The history of Ascot will probably never be beaten in the history of the air race. Awesome…no pressure!”

Charles Barnett, CEO Ascot said, “The Red Bull Air Race World Championship, like Ascot, is a respected global brand and showcases elite pilots to a worldwide audience. This is by far the most significant event outside Horse Racing that we have staged at the racecourse. The UK has a reputation as a leader in staging major sports events – the recent Olympic Games, of course, and high profile annual events such as Wimbledon, The Open Championship and, of course, Royal Ascot. We are delighted to be lending our expertise and sharing in that of the Red Bull team in bringing to Ascot one of the most vibrant and exciting sports on the calendar through the UK leg of the Red Bull Air Race.”
