Signing young players is the key to a long and prosperous career at your favourite club in FIFA 19’s Career mode. It's not too hard to find the best young strikers in the game with the highest potential, but if you’re starting off at a smaller club without a huge transfer budget, you’re not going to be able to sign Gabriel Jesus.
Taking that into account, here are some of the best young strikers in FIFA 19 with all budgets accounted for. Even if you’ve got no money whatsoever, we’ve included a few free agents, but if you've got loads of cash, there is one superstar that you must target.
Best Young Strikers - Free Agents
In FIFA 19, players who are rated over 69 will automatically be assigned to a club even if they're free agents in real life, so players like Phakamani Mahlambi (84 potential) and Henry Vaca (78 potential) won't be available for nothing. There is one free agent who is worth looking out for, but be quick! Freebies tend to get snapped up in the first few days of the transfer window.
Denis Drăguș
He doesn’t have a great weak foot or extravagant skill moves but with 84 acceleration, Romania’s Denis Drăguș is a great 18-year-old pick at the start of the game for a lower tier club. He’s only at a 63 rating to begin with, but will eventually shoot up to a 77. Again, we were beaten to the punch as he’s taken a trip to the US with Portland Timbers in our game.
Best Young Strikers – £1 million and under
Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC)
Valued at just £374,000, Toronto FC’s American striker is 18 and only has a 60 rating right now. With a phenomenal +19 potential growth to 79 though, he’s a very cheap option to pry from the Canadian club. He’s rocking 88 pace and has 73 strength, so he’s a great player to have lurking in and around the box.
Josh Maja (Sunderland)
At Sunderland since 2015, Josh Maja is a 64-rated striker. He doesn’t have one single outstanding attribute, but he’s a solid all-round player that can grow to an 82 rating. He’s only 19, too, and he can be yours for £858,000.
Moussa Sylla (AS Monaco)
AS Monaco are a breeding ground for top young talents, and Moussa Sylla is another – he's 18 years old, and has a current rating of 65 that can shoot up to 84. You’ll be able to cop him for just shy of £1 million; £989,000 to be exact. He’s another great all rounder who will develop into a solid complete forward later down the line.
Best Young Strikers – £1m-£5m
These young prospects are some of the hottest around, and are due to make their breakthrough onto the world stage any day now.
Pietro Pellegri (AS Monaco)
Another one from Monaco?! Pietro Pellegri is valued at £1.5 million and with a potential rating of 88, you can see why. He’s currently only got a 67 rating but at just 17 years old, that will swiftly increase. He’s over six foot tall, too, so get him in the box on the end of your crosses and you won’t look back.
Dominic Solanke (Liverpool)
Solanke made his first league debut for Liverpool last year, but is finding it hard to get in the team this season. If you’ve got the cash, you can get the English forward for £3.5 million, and with a current rating of 70 and 84 potential, he can slot into your team as a rotation player right away.
Christian Kouame (Genoa)
A 20-year-old striker from the Ivory Coast, Kouame is six-foot tall and boasts a four-star weak foot alongside three-star skill moves. He’s also got a sprint speed of 84 which is higher than most, so he can win headers and chase after balls without a problem. He’ll set you back £4.4 million, but expect to only pay around £8k in wages, which is considerably less than Solanke’s £32k.
Best Young Strikers – £5m-£10m
Rafael Leao (LOSC Lille)
Hailing from Portugal, Leao has everything. He’s only £5.7 million so he’s one of the cheaper options in this bracket, he has 86 pace, 77 strength, four-star skill moves and weak foot, and his potential is a staggering 86. He’s only 72 rated now but if you can tempt him away from Lille, you’re sure to have a superstar on your hands in time.
Moise Kean - Juventus
Moise Keane was the first player born in the 2000s to make an appearance in one of Europe’s top five leagues, and he has continued to impress at Juventus. He’s just 18, and although he’s only rated at 72 at the moment, that can increase to a phenomenal 87 later down the line. His 75 finishing makes him a lethal weapon right outside the box.
Best Young Strikers – £10m-£20m
Breel Embolo – Schalke 04
A Swiss 21-year-old who plays for Schalke in the Bundesliga, Embolo is yet another young forward who is an outstanding target man due to his height and strength. His four-star weak foot means he can score from any situation, and if you decide to stick him on the right wing, he’s not bad at whipping the ball into the box. He costs £11 million but with a current rating of 76 and 86 potential, he’s definitely worth it.
Patrick Cutrone (AC Milan)
If you’ve got some serious cash to spend, consider Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan. The 20-year-old Italian will set you back £14.1 million, but he’s already rocking a 77 rating with the potential to go up to 89. Four-star skill moves complement his 80 finishing, 74 dribbling, 76 pace and 74 strength. At six-foot tall, Cutrone can do it all, and his price reflects that.
Superstar!
Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)
None of the other strikers good enough for you? Your sole option then is Gabriel Jesus, City’s Brazilian attacker. He’s 21, he’s already got an 83 rating, and his stats are insane. 86 pace, 84 finishing, 88 positioning, 84 stamina, four star skill moves... We could go on. Give him a few more years and he’ll quickly reach his 92 potential. The price? £36.1m with £114k wages. Is he worth it? That’s for you to decide.
