Getting to Red Bull Hardline

How do I get there?

The event site is very remote so a car will be needed to access the event; public transport and access are extremely limited.
The nearest site address is Ysgubor, Dinas Mawddwy, Machynlleth, SY20 9LX but please note that this post code doesn’t send you to exactly the right spot. There will be signs on the A470 from this area so please keep a lookout for ones directing you to 'Red Bull Hardline Parking'.

Is there parking available at the event?

Ticket Holders
Car parking on site is for car pass ticket holders only; each ticket covers 1 x car parking space (no additional vehicles will be permitted) and admittance of up to 5 people.
Each ticket holder will be sent a personalised car parking pass via email which will be needed to access the car park.
This will need to be printed and clearly placed in your dashboard for the stewards to check; if you don’t have this with you when you arrive you will experience severe delays.
Ticket holders are responsible for printing this at home; it is essential for access, so please don’t forget it!
Each pass has its own number and bar code so it can be identified clearly.
The car parking pass is separate to your ticket; you will need both to enter the event.
Important: cars cannot be left on site overnight so if you are coming on both days you will need to leave and return the following day.
Non-Ticket Holders
There are no parking opportunities within a close distance of the event due to the extremely remote location of the event site.
Parking restrictions will be implemented by the local council for the duration of the event. All lay-by areas surrounding the event site will be closed and parking along the grass verge will not be permitted. Anyone found to be parking in these areas will be at risk of being towed.
If you plan to walk to the event, please use local footpaths and do not walk along the A470; this is a very fast and dangerous road so please avoid to reduce the risk of incidents.
We ask that if you are travelling to the event that you are respectful of the local area and abide by all national laws and highway codes.

Tickets

Do I need to bring my ticket with me?

Advance tickets are supplied as QR codes but it is a good idea to bring a printed copy and/or save the ticket PDF to your phone memory as the 4G signal can sometimes be poor at the event site.

What does my ticket get me?

A car ticket gets you access to the car park with a single car parking space, and admission into the event for up to 5 people. The more people in your vehicle, the cheaper your entry becomes! If you have more than 5 people in your vehicle, additional person(s) will have to pay on entry to get access to the event; £18 on Saturday and £20 on Sunday.
Does a single ticket get you access for both days?
No - tickets are allocated on a per-day basis (i.e. Saturday ticket or Sunday ticket); there are no weekend passes. Your ticket will get you entry for the day that is stated on the ticket only i.e. Car Parking Pass - SATURDAY. Individual tickets will be scanned on the relevant day so spectators that are attending both Saturday and Sunday, will need to visit accreditation on both days.
Do I need my ticket to access the car park?
Each ticket holder will be sent a personalised car parking pass that they will need to print & have in their dashboard to gain access to the car park. This pass will be numbered, with a unique barcode, which will be scanned on entry. Your ticket will then get scanned at the Accreditation Van situated at the exit gate of the car park.

What to bring

Can I bring my bike to the event?
We do not have anywhere safe to store public bikes on site so please do not bring them with you. If you are travelling by bike you will need to find somewhere else to store it away from the event site and local access routes.
What should I wear to the event?
Red Bull Hardline is an outdoor event in the Welsh mountains so it is important that you come prepared to be fully exposed to the elements! We strongly recommend the following:
Extra layers of clothing and waterproofs. Be prepared for changing (and potentially tough) weather conditions.
Sturdy and/or waterproof footwear. The course is on a steep and rugged mountainside so hiking boots or similar footwear is essential.
A bag or rucksack. If you plan to head up the course we advise you to bring a small bag/rucksack to carry your belongings. Please note: there will be random bag checks at the entrance.
A water bottle. It’s important you stay hydrated, especially if you’re heading up the course so please bring one with you to refill.
Suncream/Hat If we are lucky and the sun is out, it’s important that you’ve got protection to keep you safe in the heat.

Our concessions will be closing 30 minutes before the site closes, so make sure you have made your last order before then!

Facilities

Toilets
The spectator toilets are located at the entry/exit point to the car park. These are compostable toilets, which are a more sustainable option than your traditional mobile toilets! Please remember to use the wood chips on your visit!
Bins
There will be multiple waste bin stations within the event village for you to dispose of any rubbish you have. Please help us by separating your items into the different bins provided; they are clearly marked what each bin is for.
Please note there won’t be any waste bins up on the course so you will need to carry any litter or rubbish to the bottom of the course and dispose of it responsibly in the bins provided in the event village.
Seating
Red Bull Hardline is a standing event; there is no seating available for spectators. Please be prepared for this and ensure you have adequate clothing and footwear for this.
Big Screen
There will be a big screen in the event village for you to watch the action so, if you want to relax after exploring the course, feel free to head down and enjoy a few runs in the finish field.
Camping
No camping is permitted on site. If you are attending the event on both days, you will be required to leave the site and return the next day.
Smoking Areas
Smoking is permitted in the event village but we ask that you do this considerately with other spectator’s in mind, and dispose of your waste adequately. No smoking is allowed on-course to reduce the risk of forest fires and waste within the environment; please be respectful of this.
Merchandise
There are a number of merchandise items on sale at the event that you can take home with you to remember your day!
Stock is limited onsite so we recommend purchasing online to avoid disappointment - go here to buy online. Please note that our merchandise stand will be taking card payments only.
I would like to walk to the event - will I be able to get access?
Walk-ins will be accepted if the capacity restrictions allow for this at the time of arrival. A fee of £18 (Saturday) and/or £20 (Sunday) will need to be paid on the door; card payments only. We cannot guarantee entry with this ticket type so please be aware of this beforehand; if we have reached capacity we will not be able to allow entry. If you plan to walk to the event, please use local footpaths and do not walk along the A470; this is a very fast and dangerous road so please avoid to reduce the risk of incidents.
Can I park for free nearby?
No. There are no parking opportunities within a close distance of the event due to the extremely remote location of the event site. Parking restrictions will be implemented by the local council for the duration of the event. All lay-by areas surrounding the event site will be closed and parking along the grass verge on A470 will not be permitted. Anyone found to be parking in these areas will be at risk of being towed.
I’ve purchased a ticket for one day but want to switch - can I do this?
Tickets have been released based on capacity restrictions so we will only be able to accommodate this if tickets are still showing as available for the day you wish to switch to. Please email us at hardline.uk@redbull.com and we will do our best to accommodate you. If tickets have sold out for the day you wish to switch to, we will be unable to move your booking.
I can no longer attend - can I get a refund?
Once purchased tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged or refunded as per our ticketing terms and conditions.
