We know how it goes: you’ve got an avid F1 fan in your family, but you don’t know your Ferrari from your Footwork and you're stuck for a present.
Well don't worry, because help is at hand, courtesy of RedBull.com’s ultimate F1 Christmas gift list. Buy one of these for your Formula One fiend and bask in Santa-sized quantities of piping-hot glee.

1. WTF1's Alonso Chair T-shirt

RRP: £18.00

Arguably the defining image of Fernando Alonso's career, the moment the Spaniard clambered out of his yet-again-broken McLaren-Honda, pulled up chair and enjoyed some Brazilian rays has become something of a zen meme. Channel some of that Alonso enlightenment with WTF1's T-shirt rendering of the iconic image.

2. Retro Scalextric

RRP: £84.99

Technology might have moved on, but there’s still nothing quite like playing the electro-magnetic marvel that is Scalextric. Retro F1 fans have now been treated to these winged Scalextric wonders, the Brabham BT26A and McLaren M7C.

3. F1 engine lamp

RRP: £299

4. Niki Lauda mini helmet

Mini replica helmets are available for all modern F1 drivers, but this retro 1977-season Niki Lauda beauty piqued our interest. It’s only 1:8 scale, though, so don’t try it on if you don’t want to spend Christmas in A&E…

5. F1 2017 game

RRP: £39.99 – £49.99

Codemasters’ F1 2017 is properly good, recently winning our poll of best racing games for 2017, and will allow you to recreate your favourite moments from the F1 season on Christmas Day while your gran enjoys her post port-and-cheese nap.

6. Lego's Ferrari FXX K and Development Center kit

RRP: £44.99

Call us infants, but we still love fiddling with Lego, and this Ferrari FXX K development centre – featuring a real working wind tunnel – tickles our fancy.

7. Jenson Button's autobiography, Life to the Limit

RRP: £20

"Jacques [Villeneuve] had saved a bit of fuel through the first stint of the race and didn’t pit… Why did he do it? Partly mind games, partly because he wanted to beat me. But it was a dick move." What better way to while away Christmas Day than a bit of inter-F1 driver wrangling? Jenson Button is out of Formula One now and not pulling any punches in his autobiography, Life to the Limit. Villeneuve, Lewis Hamilton, and his ex-Benetton boss Flavio Briatore all come into the 15-time grand prix winner's crosshairs. Lovely stuff.

8. McLaren DVD

RRP: £12.78

OK, let's be honest – the F1 fan in your life would be lucky if they managed to convince the family to forego The Great Escape/Frozen/Elf on Christmas Day in favour of a feature-length documentary on Bruce McLaren. A shame, that, because it's bloody good, telling the story of how the humble New Zealander – who died testing one of his own cars in 1970 – laid the foundations for what became one of Formula One's great powerhouses.
