We don’t often stray into the world of art at Red Bull Motorsports, but we’re making an exception for a new project by Italian photographer Domenico Franco, which has seen him place life-sized versions of LEGO vehicles, including a Lamborghini Gallardo and Land Rover Defender, onto the streets of Rome.
Franco’s personal project, entitled LEGO outside LEGOLAND, also sees a LEGO helicopter on the lawns outside the Coliseum and a cubic Ferrari being wheeled out of the back of a lorry.

Speaking about the project, Franco said: “The aim is to transform ordinary contexts in extraordinary ones, thus compelling the toys to get out of the idyllic and politically correct landscapes belonging to their perfect and idealistic cities, with the result of instilling in them those vices, virtues and desires typical of human beings.” And that’s why we don’t often stray into the art world…

Now the bad news. Franco has only digitally imposed the vehicles into the photographs – so don’t go buying a plane ticket and trying to hunt them down!
