This month we were lucky enough to come across this gorgeous MK1 Golf G60. The owner is Adam Elvin, a 26-year-old with a huge passion for cars ,which has lead to a direct route to his awesome G60. You can check out his Instagram here. Adam's Golf has been fully re-built from the ground up to a crazy standard; from the engine and the paint, to the wheels and interior. Dripping with clever touches throughout, no stone has been left unturned and the build details are very impressive. We caught up with Adam to get all the details on the car and his remarkable handy work.

How long have you had the car? Did you always want an MK1?

Ever since I was young, my old man always had VW MK2 Golfs so I was pretty much brought up around old VWs. Since about 10 I wanted an MK1 Golf. The car was bought around four years ago and then the full restoration began to the way you see the car today.

What’s the thing you’re most proud of about the car?

To be totally honest, I love everything about the car so much but my favourite thing by far is the colour – it’s so different yet so relevant for the year and the build, I’m very happy with how it’s come out!

Could you tell me more about the car, the engine, wheels and why you went for those specific modifications?

So, the car itself is a VW MK1 Golf G60.

The engine is a 280bhp 1.9 G60, supercharged and fully forged, with a stage 4 supercharger in a smoothed and fully wire-tucked engine bay. For the transmission I went for an O2A Gearbox with LSD.

Wheel-wise, I wanted to keep it classic to match the era of the car, so went for a set of BBS RMs with Radinox lips, 7.5 and 8.5J respectively. For the suspension, there is always the ‘static’ versus ‘air’ debate, but I went for the AirLift setup to get the perfect fitment I wanted.

Inside I went for a set of Recaro CS seats with tartan centres and tartan door cards to keep in line with the retro theme of the car, coupled with a Renown steering wheel and a TR Motorsport shifter. I went for a fully flocked dashboard with custom light switches, V2 controller and Astra GTE digital clocks, while in the back you’ll find a full alcantara boot build for my air ride setup.

Do you have any future plans for the car or do you plan on starting another project?

The car is always changing: I’ve just fitted carbon arch spats and carbon bumper ends and reupholstered the interior in cross-stitched leather. I have a few more details to add before Ultimate Dubs 2019 (Telford) as I’m a big fan of small details, so be sure to keep an eye out for it there!

However, I’m currently keeping an eye out for an old Porsche 930 or 911, as I have my heart set on building a show standard Porsche, but I definitely want to keep the retro theme going!

What’s your favourite event to take the car to and show it off?

I haven’t much time to get it to many shows, but I always enjoy Ultimate Dubs at the beginning of the year and Edition 38 (dub show). I do also have Worthersee (famous VW meet-up in Austria) on the cards next year though – hopefully I'll catch some of the Slammed UK guys out there!
