Hailing from Kyoto, Ayumi is no stranger to the scene, having first started out back in 2004. She's currently a member of the Body Carnival crew.
Unlike many of her fellow finalists she doesn't break full-time and even credits her career as a kindergarten teacher with helping her dance career.
Before breaking on the biggest stages in the world, Ayumi reveals she used to be so shy that she struggled to speak in front of people, but that dancing has changed her personality. "For me, dancing is everything," she said. "I work part-time teaching little kids, but I do a lot of dancing also and I love to do both things.
"I go to work, finish and then go to parties or training. It's two completely different lives, but for me it's the best of the two worlds."
One thing is for sure, Ayumi will forever be in the history books as the first b-girl to ever compete in the Red Bull BC One World Final.
"We have many female dancers coming up and getting into it. It's an amazing experience for me, I'm so excited," she commented on her historic achievement.
