9 best young goalkeepers in FIFA for all budgets

It doesn't matter if you're skint or super-rich – these wonderkid keepers all have great potential in FIFA 19 Career mode.

Finally, it seems that goalkeepers are being valued as highly as many other outfield players. You only need one goalkeeper, but there was surprise when Everton forked out £30m for the now-England number one Jordan Pickford. But you only need to look at the performances of the likes of David de Gea, Jan Oblak and Thibaut Courtois to see the importance of investing in a young goalkeeper with potential, who can spend the majority of his career at your club.
It's the same in FIFA – you definitely need a reliable keeper in your squad, but you don't need to do a Chelsea or Liverpool and spend over £60m on a world-class wonderkid. Obviously it helps to have cash to spend, but these top young goalkeepers all have great potential, and even if they start on the substitutes bench, it's worth investing in them for the long term.

Christian Früchtl could be the next Neuer

These two 18-year-olds are still very young but they’re billed to be some of the best years down the line.
Christian Früchtl (Bayern Munich)
Expected to be Manuel Neuer’s successor in real life, Christian Fruchtl is on the right path to becoming Germany’s main man between the sticks, too. His five goalkeeping stats are all between 64 and 68, making him an incredible all-rounder without any discernible weaknesses. His Jumping could be better, but at 6’4”, he can reach most high balls anyway. He’ll set you back £898k for his 65 overall and 86 potential.
Alessandro Plizzari (AC Milan)
AC Milan have two of the best young keepers in the world at their club, the second of which we’ll get to later. Alessandro Plizzari is another promising youngster with a 66 overall and 84 potential. His best stat is his 72 Reflexes followed by his 68 Diving and Handling. His weakest goalkeeping stat is his 59 Kicking, but let’s be real – that’s far less important than the other four. He’s also got 63 Jumping which is a huge improvement on Fruchtl’s. He’ll cost you £957k, slightly more expensive than Fruchtl but he's also a slightly more finished product.

Could Mile Svilar be Belgium's next top stopper after Courtois?

Three more of the best young goalkeepers, but you’ll be paying a tad more to get these boys on your team.
Mile Svilar (Benfica)
First up is Mile Svilar who just makes his way into this category at £1.1 million. Despite only being 18, he’s featured for Benfica a handful of times already, which shows his incredible promise. His 71 Diving and Jumping are his two highest stats, followed by his 70 Reflexes and 69 Reactions. He’s let down slightly by his 59 Handling but with three traits – Puncher, Rushes Out Of Goal and Comes For Crosses – he more than makes up for it. He’s rocking a 67 overall right now but that can increase to 84.
Emil Audero (Sampdoria)
You’re looking at spending considerably more for Audero – he'll set you back £3.8m, but when you look at the 21-year-old’s stats, it’s clear to see why. His 77 Diving and Reflexes followed by his 69 Positioning and 68 Handling make him the best statted player yet, along with 65 Jumping and Kicking. He’s already got a 71 overall so he can fit into your squad right away with some fleeting appearances against lesser teams, though you may need to wait for a season because he’s currently on loan from Juventus.
Wuilker Fariñez (Millonarios FC)
Fariñez already has a 73 rating

It’s just a matter of time before Farinez makes his way to the big leagues, because, at just 20 years old, he’s already too good for Millonarios FC in the Colombian Liga Postobon. With a 73 overall and 83 potential, he’s already Venezuela’s first choice keeper, featuring for them in World Cup qualifiers and friendlies. In FIFA 19 he’s blessed with 78 Jumping, 77 Reflexes, 74 Positioning and 73 Diving. To lure him away from Colombia though, you’ll need to fork out £4.4m for the youngster.

Just one young goalkeeper we think is worth it in this category, but he’s a monster.
Andriy Lunin (CD Leganés)
Unfortunately, Andriy Lunin is another player you may have to wait for as he’s on loan from Real Madrid – the first ever Ukrainian to play for the club. You can see why the Spanish giants went for him though as he’s got 79 Reflexes, 77 Positioning, 76 Kicking, 76 Reactions, 74 Diving and 71 Handling. With a current overall of 76, he can grow by another 12 to an 88 potential but you’ll need to pay for it. He’s worth £9.2m right now which will most likely increase slightly by the end of the season.

Best Young Goalkeepers - £10 million or more

Two phenomenal keepers here for just north of £10 million.
Alex Meret (Napoli)
If you don’t want to wait for Lunin to become available, consider Alex Meret. At £10.6m, he’s not too much more expensive, and you’ll be getting his 78 Reflexes, 77 Diving, 75 Positioning and 71 Handling. As for his rating, he’s one less than Lunin at 75 but he can increase to a whopping 89 if you have the patience. He’s likely to be easier to tempt with a move, too, given that he’s not Napoli’s first choice keeper yet.
Alban Lafont (Fiorentina)
Serie A seems to be the home of great young goalkeepers, even if they’re not always Italian. Alban Lafont is a young French keeper who is also worth £10.6m with the same 89 potential as Meret, but with a current overall of 77 – two points higher. He’s got six stats north of 70, with the highlights being his 79 Reflexes, 78 Diving and 77 Handling. Unlike Meret though, Lafont is the first choice goalkeeper for his club.

You already know who this is, don’t you?
Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan)
We told you AC Milan have some incredible goalkeeping talent. At just 19 years old, Gianluigi Donnarumma will be contesting with David de Gea and Jan Oblak for the title of best goalkeeper in the world in a few years. Towering over everyone at 6ft 5”, Donnarumma boasts an absolutely outrageous 88 Diving and Reflexes, followed by 78 Handling and Positioning. He’s even got 72 Jumping – not that he’ll ever need it when he’s that tall. These stats culminate in an 82 current overall, but a jaw-dropping 93 potential. The caveat? He’ll cost you £25.5m, though if you can afford it, surely it’s a no-brainer?
