A lot of kids raised a stone's throw from Whistler are out on the slopes from an early age and ripping up backcountry before most of us have got the training wheels off our bikes. Not all of them, though, end up topping podiums on the Freeride World Tour. So, what gave Logan Pehota the edge? Well, it can't have hurt that his father is big mountain pioneer Eric Pehota.
After a childhood covering all the bases – from alpine racing to halfpipe to slopestyle – Logan's talent for big lines saw him emerge as a talented freeride competitor. His first win on the Freeride World Tour circuit came in Haines, Alaska, back in 2016 and he's landed on the podium plenty of times since, including a 'home' win at Kicking Horse in 2018.
By the time he'd started picking up FWT podiums, Logan was already turning his hand towards snowmobiles. He bought his first in 2015, initially just to help get him to where he wanted to ski, but it soon became clear that there was going to be much more to his sled career.
Logan has always balanced film projects alongside his competitive career – seek out his part in Matchstick Productions' 2012 film Superheroes of Stoke if you haven't seen it already – but in 2019 he decided to take the season out to work on his own project. Check out the result, MSP's Return to Send'er, to see his skiing and sledding skills in full effect.
