Gaming
Gamers need to have the right weapons by their side so they can perform at their best.
Different gaming titles need their own hardware and software setups. An F1 fanatic will benefit from the right steering wheel and pedal combo, maybe even a home simulator. A FIFA fan is usually adept with a good PlayStation or Xbox controller. A PUBG Mobile gamer works best with the latest in mobile technology that has great screen resolution and good in-built memory.
For someone playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the computer configuration is very important as well as well-tuned in-game settings. But some auxiliary gaming equipment also plays an important role.
Ankit Panth finds that the right gaming mouse, keyboard and headset go a long way in helping him in the game. Having the right equipment each time he is in a match or tournament means that he is comfortable, carefree and can focus on the game completely.
Ankit’s general advice for mouse, keyboard and headset are as follows: “Play on a mechanical keyboard; it will help you in your game movement because no keystroke will be missed. Use a mouse with a good sensor which doesn't skip when you are in an intense match. And finally, get a premium gaming headset so that you can hear your enemies footsteps clearly and also be comfortable while marathon gaming.”
Here are some of Ankit Panth’s favourites when playing CS:GO.
Logitech G703 Lightspeed Gaming Mouse
Ankit says having the right mouse to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand is very important. He uses the G703 wireless because the sensor and size are perfect for him.
“The G703 wireless comes equipped with the PMW3366 Gaming Optical Sensor, which is regarded as one of the best gaming mouse sensors in the world of esports. I love the ergonomic design. I am not a fan of bulky and heavy mice so this one hits the sweet spot for me,” says Ankit.
Ankit also likes the CORSAIR Dark Core RGB PRO Wireless Gaming Mouse and the CORSAIR Harpoon RGB Wireless Gaming Mouse.
CORSAIR K70 MK.2 RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Most gamers advise that using a mechanical keyboard is best for CS:GO. This is because your fingers fit perfectly to the keys and it reduces the chances of you pressing the wrong button in a clutch situation. Ankit uses the CORSAIR K70 MK.2 RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.
CORSAIR VOID RGB Elite Wireless Premium Gaming Headset
Ankit’s advice is to invest in a good gaming headset like the CORSAIR VOID RGB Elite Wireless Premium Gaming Headset because it can make a huge difference to your game. A quality headset will allow you to hear the detailed sounds in the game and also be a comfortable fit if you are spending hours in match-ups.
Ankit’s pro tip
“Keep an extra pair of your weapons. I always keep a standby set of all my gaming peripherals with me when I am travelling for tournaments because once when I was playing a tournament, my mouse started double clicking and it cost me many crucial rounds. Since that day I always carry two headsets and two mice with me,” advises Ankit.
