PUBG Mobile became an instant favourite in India because it is so easy to understand and play, and because almost everyone has a mobile phone.
The fast action and deep complexity of the gameplay also added to the hype. Developing skills like spray kills with an AKM or learning to tactics like timing of rotations when getting into the circle, makes it even more exciting to play the game.
One aspect of the game that most pro gamers have perfected is how to land fast. While it can’t be overlooked as an important skill and tactic, most casual gamers aren’t certain how to go about it.
So if you are looking for a few tips, read on to know what top Indian gamers suggest when it comes to landing into the map in PUBG Mobile.

Mark your spot on the map

Most gamers and pro teams have three-four preferred drop locations for each map. They pick their drop location based on their strategy for the game.
Your drop location will make a huge difference to how fast you land so pick wisely. Once you’ve decided the spot, mark it on the map before dropping out of the plane.

Tactics with picking your spot

Remember that your tactics in the game will also be affected by your drop location and those of opponent teams. High loot zones directly on the flight path are likely to have more enemies.
“If the plane path is northern/southern or western/eastern, you can use that to your advantage (when picking your drop location) by rotating from the places which were far away from the plane path as those places are most likely to remain clear of enemies,” says Manmeet ‘Ted’ Singh from Team SynerGE.

Adapt according to the flight path

Don’t forget that the flight path is visible on the mini map in the spawning pre-game phase. Use the spawn time to adjust your strategy according to the flight path and pick your drop location.
“The plane’s path helps in getting the information of drops that are reachable directly and so strategies change accordingly,” says Naresh ‘Seervi’ Kumar of Team SynerGE. His suggestion is to think quickly and make a decision once you know the flight path.

Distance from drop location

Jump out of the plan based on the distance of the flight from your drop location. “The fastest way to land is to jump when you are around 750-780m away from your drop location,” says Khelgayi of Rising Falcon Esports, regarding the map Erangel. “However, remember that for Livik, it is 450m,” she adds, specifying that the distance varies by maps.
Also remember to jump out of the plane when your marked drop location as at 10’o clock to the flight path. This angle works best to help you drop faster.

Angle of your sky dive

Skydiving straight down will make you land quickest. However, it may not be possible if your drop location is far away. You will need to angle your skydive according to the distance to your drop location.
“The easiest trick is to look where you want to go, not in the mini-map but the actual spot, and your mind will automatically help you shift to the required angle,” says Purvi ‘Sniipu’ Jain of ReckLess Esports.

When to open the parachute

The timing of opening the parachute will depend on the distance to your marked drop location. This will have a huge impact on your landing time.
“There are two ways this plays out. First is if you are going to a location that is near the plane’s path, don't open the parachute early; instead rely on the automatic open. Second, if your drop location is far, you have to open your parachute a little early to glide mid-air and reach your destination. Be sure to play it out smartly as your timings get affected,” says Sujoy ‘AustinX’ Das of SynerGE.

Bonus tip

Punch as soon as you touch the ground on landing. This will cancel the somersault animation and lets you hit the ground running sooner.
