From ball boy to training assistant to pro. At 18, Alison Conte Cerutti finally stepped out from the sidelines to become a leading figure of Brazilian beach volleyball. These days, he's considered an innovator within the Brazilian beach volleyball circuit.

Born and raised in the Espírito Santo state, Brazil, Alison was a late starter, only taking up the sport in 2004. But he was a fast learner and within 12 months he claimed the U21 State Championship title and had entered the national circuit.
