Ever since little Catalin tried handstands from the 3m springboard during post-training playtime as a seven-year-old, the passionate skier and scuba diver has gravitated towards a life on the adventurous side. A two-time Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series event winner, Romanian Cătălin Preda had previously been one of the men’s top contenders since his arrival in the sport in 2018.

After wowing his fellow divers with a Back Quad with 2 Twists in the lead-up to that debut appearance in Mostar – less than a handful of elite World Series divers performed such complex dives back then – the trained journalist secured third place on his debut.
