Catie Munnings is a British rally driver who started competing from a young age after being inspired to enter the sport by her petrolhead father, Chris Munnings, who ran the London rally school at Brands Hatch.
She mastered the art of the handbrake turn by the age of 13 and spent the following few years gaining invaluable experience by entering club rally events across the UK, doing everything from driving alongside her father (who was on co-pilot duties) to testing with a professional rally team when she was 17.
Before long Catie had an international license and she made her European Rally Championship debut in 2016 at the Ypres Rally behind the wheel of a Peugeot 208 VTi R2 for Saintéloc Junior Team. That same year, at the age of 18, Catie won the FIA European Rally Championship Ladies trophy.
Catie continued to claim a series of stage class victories in 2018 and 2019, before securing a place in the new all-electric off-road racing championship Extreme E for Andretti United alongside teammate Timmy Hansen. In the opening race of the season, the duo excelled as they took second place at the Desert X-Prix in Saudi Arabia before securing their first victory at the Artic X-Prix in Greenland.
