Born in Alexandria in Egypt, Ehab Amin was interested in sports from a young age and competed in swimming and football. However, it wasn’t long before he developed a love of basketball and joined the Alexandria Sporting Club. During his 11 years with the team he won the Egyptian Basketball Super League and the Egypt Basketball Cup.
In 2013, Ehab moved to the United States to attend St John's Northwestern Military Academy, where he suffered a serious back injury that prevented him from playing. Despite the setback, he was offered a scholarship to play college basketball for Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.
