A regular medalist at junior level, Estonia's Kristjan Ilves has competed in Nordic Combined at the Winter Games on three occasions.

Kristjan's interest in Nordic Combined started with his father, a biathlon coach in his hometown of Elva. He made his first jump at the age of four when leaping from eight metres and instantly fell in love with the sport.
Excelling at junior level, Kristjan won bronze medals at the Junior World Championships in 2013, 2015 and 2016. He also represented his country at the Winter Games for the first time in 2014 when he was just 17. He competed at the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the 2022 Games in Beijing, China.
In 2023, Kristjan won the Estonian Champion title. He won second place at the 2024 FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Oberstdorf, Germany, in addition to three more third-place finishes.
Now a veteran on the World Cup stage, Kristjan has finished fifth overall three seasons in a row: 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
