Tahnée Seagrave became one of downhill’s most exciting talents back in 2013. Not only did she win the Junior World Champs, but she also started making waves in the elite category, finishing the season in the top 10 at just 18 years old.
It all began for the French-raised rider when her parents moved to Morzine when she was just eight years old. Influenced by the pro riders staying at her parents’ chalet, Tahnée picked up a downhill bike and never looked back.
2016 saw Tahnée continue to make her mark on the downhill scene, finishing the World Cup season in fourth and coming fifth at the World Championships.
Now living in Wales, Tahnée has pushed herself to the very top of echelons of her sport. She narrowly missed out on the overall World Cup to Myriam Nicole in 2017 and to Rachel Atherton in 2018. She also placed second at the World Championships in 2018, again behind only the seemingly unstoppable Atherton.
2019 started with a big win at the opening World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia and Tahnée looked like the rider to beat, but a heavy fall during practice at the next stop in Fort William left her with a separated shoulder that forced her to have surgery and put her out of the World Cup series just as she appeared on the cusp of staging a championship run. She made a brilliant return to racing at the World Championships however, where she finished in the silver medal position behind old rival Myriam Nicole.
Unfortunately, a dislocated ankle and broken tibia and fibula ruled Tahnée out of most of the 2020 World Cup season. The Brit returned to action late in the year and secured a third-place finish in Lousã, Portugal before enjoying an extended off-season.
In 2021, Tahnée was back on top form as she took third place at Crankworx Innsbruck, secured a World Cup win in Les Gets, France, and second place in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
Unfortunately, after fighting back from her previous run of injuries, Tahnée suffered a serious concussion after scoring a podium at the opening World Cup round of 2022 season, which sidelined her from racing for more than a year.
Returning to action during the 2023 season, Tahnée built herself back up steadily and made an emotional return to the World Cup podium in Andorra, as well as joining the women's progression camp at the infamous Red Bull Hardline.
Starting 2024 with a bang, Tahnée showed she was back to her best by taking on the all-new Red Bull Hardline Australia course in Tasmania, before opening her World Cup campaign with a third place on home soil in Fort William, Scotland.
The best was yet to come however and after three long, difficult years Tahnée returned to the top of the podium at the fearsome Val di Sole course with an emotional winning ride on her 29th birthday, signalling that she's back to her very best. Welcome back, Tahnée.
