Whether it's taking place in Africa, South America or Saudi Arabia, the Dakar Rally has been the world’s premier rally raid spectacle since 1979. The race pits thousands of amateurs and motorsport icons such as Fernando Alonso, Sébastien Loeb and Carlos Sainz against each other on motorbikes, quads, trucks and hugely expensive custom-built cars.
Because the sport takes place in the middle of remote desert dunes amid some of the world’s most isolated regions, being a spectator is not that straightforward – but fear not!
These 10 awesome movies and shows will get you up close to the high-speed action without having to even step outside.
