Hot on the heels of last week’s Formula One race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, Codemasters have unleashed exclusive screenshots and a video of a virtual Max Verstappen hammering round the circuit in the upcoming F1 2016 game.
We’d already seen a trailer of the new Baku circuit, but now Codemasters are back with more jaw-dropping new screenshots, and F1 2016 looks every bit as good as we’d hoped.
We get to see the 2016 Red Bull car being pushed to the absolute limits around the formidable Red Bull Ring, with wet-weather shots and on-board images that show just how realistic the latest Codemasters sim has become. With improved performance on offer from the Red Bull’s TAG Heuer-branded Renault engine for 2016, going head to head with the best drivers from other teams should also be a lot more fun.
The video shows an on-board lap of the Red Bull Ring, taking in long straights, fast, flowing curves and some brutally tight corners, letting you get a feel for what Verstappen and team-mate Daniel Ricciardo were going through last weekend.
F1 2016 is set to land on August 19 on PC, Xbox One and PS4, ushering in a host of new features. The second game in the series built specifically for the latest generation of consoles, it features a comprehensive career mode that spans 10 seasons, along with the inclusion of a safety car and virtual safety car, as well as all the latest circuits for 2016.
The latest version of Codemasters' class-leading F1 sim also packs in an updated multiplayer mode supporting up to 22 players. It offers manual starts, and there's even a formation lap to give you a feel for the circuit.
