When Forza Horizon 4 dropped in late 2018, few could have predicted just how fiercely acclaimed the game would go on to be. Winning award after award, not only is it the finest of the franchise to date, it arguably stands among the greatest racing games of all time.
With over 450 vehicles in the game, you need to know exactly which of Forza Horizon's 4 motors you should be driving, come rain or shine. Below, we count down our 10 favourite cars that you need in your garage in order to be crowned Horizon Champion.
The Escort Cosworth is one of the cars that's available to select when you begin the dirt racing series. The rallying icon provides a healthy 224bhp and solid handling, making it perfect for off-road racing and searching for those barn finds that are often off the beaten track. With some tuning and upgrades, you can easily create a highly powerful off-road beast with plenty of power and grip.
Aston Martin is a staple of the British motoring industry and no Forza Horizon garage should be without one of their incredible cars. With over 600 horsepower racing towards the rear wheels, there are plenty of opportunities for lots of sideways action around the winding country lanes of the UK.
The Ferrari FFX K is one of the fastest cars in the whole game. Yielding well over 1,000bhp from a combination of its V12 engine and an electronic KERS system, the FXX K boasts incredible statistics in the speed, launch and acceleration categories. If you're feeling brave, there's potential to tune the car to give extra power and create one of the fastest ways to reach the finish line in Forza Horizon 4.
If you've got a spare 10 million credits, there are a lot of cars to spend all that hard-earned cash on. The E-Type is one of many iconic British sports cars in the game and is the perfect car to cruise along a coastal road during the summer season, or do battle against other classic machinery in some action-packed road racing.
One of our favourite cars from the exclusive James Bond car pack is the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. Unfortunately, the car can't be driven underwater, but all the gadgets on the car can be operated in such a way that you can recreate some of the epic driving sequences from the Bond films.
If you love sideways action, then this Dodge Viper from the Formula Drift Car Pack is the one for you. Boasting 1350 horsepower under the bonnet, this particular car is very tail-happy and is definitely a car to have in the garage if you fancy creating some epic drifting sequences on the backroads of Britain.
You get the opportunity to drive the Toyota Baja truck in one of the Horizon Showcase events that take place. Its huge tyres and reasonable 340 horsepower allow you to travel over pretty much every form of terrain very quickly. That combination of power and grip off-road offers plenty of chances to catch some air time. Remember to use the photo mode to capture all of the off-road antics that you'll have in this car.
The Veneo is perhaps the most extreme road car in all of Forza Horizon 4. With only one of its statistics reading below the maximum, it's perfect for setting blinding speed records in the speed traps that are located around the map. The Veneo is one of several hypercars that feature in the game and is most certainly the fastest in its category. Be careful when driving in the winter, though, the snow and ice make the Veneo difficult to handle despite it having four-wheel drive.
Aptly named after the Brazilian F1 legend, the cover car of Forza Horizon 4 is an incredible car to drive on the roads of Great Britain. Priced at a very reasonable one million credits, the sleek bodywork makes it one of the most beautiful cars in the game and is definitely one to take plenty of in-game photos with. Its famous rear spoiler provides plenty of downforce, giving loads of grip in the corners, meaning you can reach some mind-blowing speeds.
It wasn't an easy decision to make, but the Bugatti Chiron is the best car to own in Forza Horizon 4. The combination of grip, acceleration and speed makes it the fastest and best handling car in all seasons, meaning it's the car to use in all road racing events. Upgrade it in the garage to further improve the handling and braking and you'll have the most complete car in Forza Horizon 4.
