Gisela Pulido wins 2013 PKRA Championship

Watch the action as the 19 year old kiteboarder secures the PKRA freestyle title for a ninth time.

Gisela Pulido has made up for last year's disappointment at missing out on the world freestyle kitesurf title for the first time since 2004. You can watch the decisive action and interviews with Gisela herself in the video player above.
Since winning her first world title at just 10 years old, Gisela has been the dominant freestyle force on the world circuit, taking home eight consecutive titles. However, light winds over the last few events in 2012 showed up the one weakness in her technique and allowed Poland's Karolina Winkowska to break Pulido's dominance.
I'm super happy to have won my ninth world title. I think this has been one of the toughest years since I've been competing in the PKRA, so I'm super stoked.
In pre-season 2013, Gisela spent a week working with Ryan Jones and Mike Ferraro in Orlando, Florida. The three spent some time developing new tips and tricks to help improve her power in light wind conditions.
The work clearly paid off, with Gisela crowned as PKRA Freestyle World Champion 2013 on Hainan Island, China, with an event to spare.
For any athlete winning is the most important thing, because you commit yourself one hundred per cent. All you do is train and that means sacrifices, as well as a lot of effort. When you reach your goals and get the results you hoped for, well, that makes you happy.
