Edgar scores well in Spa F3 - Qualifying has Hadjar & Crawford catch up
But to be honest I am proud of myself after all my performances from Practice to Race 2

Jonny Edgar put in two very fine F3 points scoring drives at Spa as his fitness builds, finishing 4th and 5th.
Fellow Red Bull Juniors Isack Hadjar and Jak Crawford fought to make up for troubled Qualifying. Both put in great drives on Saturday and Sunday.
Hadjar scratched 2 points in the Sprint Race to hold the lead in the championship chase.

“Practice went pretty well and the car felt well,” explained the 18-year-old Briton. “A few people used new tyres ahead but the speed was good compared to everyone on similar tyres.”
“Just before Qualifying it rained so the first run was on wets and then it started to dry during the Red Flag and I was the last one out on slicks so I didn’t get many laps to get temperature in the tyres. But for the last lap everything was good and I was purple in S1 and S3 but I got traffic in Sector 2 which was a shame because the car was very good.”
“In Race 1 I had a very good start and already gained one place and then in T5 there were lots of cars and I had small contact with another car and for this I got the 5 second penalty. After this I managed to end Lap 1 in P4 and then on one of the Safety Car restarts I got to P3.”
“On another restart I got up to P2 and then soon after there was a Red Flag. On the restart from the Red Flag I stayed in P2 and pushed as much as possible to get a big gap to the cars behind and I ended P4 with the 5 second penalty and unfortunately I missed out on the podium by 0.6 but the pace was very good.”

“For Race 2 again my start was good and I gained a place on Lap 1 and then for the first 10 laps we were mostly under Safety Car. On the restart I managed to hold position but in traffic I had a little bit too much understeer so I couldn’t pass the car ahead. Then I started to struggle a little bit and the car behind was very fast so I lost a place with a few laps to go.”
But the weekend was very good and it was nice to be at the front, still there is some things to improve but hopefully as my fitness keeps improving everything will get better and better.

Hadjar holds on

“Well, obviously a really disappointing weekend with only 2 points scored,” stated the 17-year-old Frenchman. “But to be honest I am proud of myself after all my performances from Practice to Race 2. I felt that I was really driving well.”
“In Practice I was really on the pace, in Qualifying too, until that last lap when I had a mechanical failure as I launched my very last attempt. It was really disappointing because the track was drying all the time and times improved every lap. Se we couldn't do the lap and P23 was really disappointing but I have to say that I was really lucky that my title rivals also ended up at the back of the grid. A bit of luck there.”

“I had a lot of fun in those two races with really good moves. I felt that I could have been in the top 10 again today but it didn't happen.”
Still in the lead of the championship so hopes are really high and we will be fighting hard for the last two events.

Crawford charging from the back

“It was a really disappointing weekend,” admitted the 17-year-old American. “It started out quite OK in Free Practice, going into Qualifying looking good.”
“It was wet at the beginning, we knew it was going to dry out. I made a mistake, over pushing it when I didn't really need to, a really daft mistake, spinning out and putting us out of Qualifying. It put me last and on the back of the grid. Unfortunate and not very smart from my side.”
“We knew that it was going to be difficult to score points from there. In Race 1 I made my way up through a lot of positions, up to 11th in only 6 laps of running. There were a lot of crashes and Safety Cars. It was very good progress but we didn't score any points for P11.”
Then in Race 2 today the speed was good and I made places on the opening lap but then there was a big DRS train and a lot of Safety cars.
“So that was this weekend, I've got to go big in Zandvoort.”
