#18 Isack Hadjar (FRA – HitechGP Dallara Mecachrome)
#5 Jak Crawford (USA – Prema Dallara Mecachrome)
#1 Jonny Edgar (GBR – Trident Dallara Mecachrome)
Jonny Edgar and Jak Crawford are well capable of winning races in the final F3 weekend of the season on Monza. It is Isack Hadjar though who can bring home the title for the Red Bull Junior Team.
Hadjar is 5 points off the lead but confident that he can overcome that in the remaining to races. Crawford and Edgar are determined that they can end their seasons on the podium, focused very much on the top step.
Hadjar taking care of business
“I am not thinking about the championship,” states the 17-year-old Frenchman. “I am thinking about Practice, Quali and the races. If we get those right the championship will take care of itself.”
”I like this track a lot because I had a mega weekend there last year in regional with a win and a P2.”
“It will obviously be absolute chaos in Quali for the tow management, but it is part of it.”
“Also super excited for the races as the tow and DRS have a big impact, so I am looking forward to overtake!”
“The best section of the track for me is Sector 2 with the 2 Lesmo and also the Ascari chicane that will be really challenging in Quali.”
Crawford keen for the Monza challenge and Italian food
“It's Prema's home race so I am looking forward to seeing all the fans,” enthuses the 17-year-old American. “It's great to be back in Italy, I love the Italian food and everything.”
“It's my first time racing at Monza, when I was running some races in F4 in 2020 I had to skip Monza because of a date class so I've never raced at Monza but I know it is quite crazy.”
“I have done a test there back in 2020 so at least I know the track. I guess it's all about the slipstream and getting the right tow, that's going to be really important.”
Edgar ready to podium
“I haven't been here for a while but I had two poles in Italian F4 so I'm looking forward to seeing what it will be like in and F3 car,” enthuses the 18-year-old Briton. “It will be quicker of course but still much the same I expect.”
“There are overtaking opportunities in the race with the straights but still Qualifying is important and that can go well or it can go wrong even if you don't make a mistake, just because you are in the wrong place to get the slipstream.”
“I've been getting quicker and quicker over the recent weekends and it would be great to end the season on the podium. It will not be easy but that is what I am aiming for.”
