We’ve already handpicked the best goals of FIFA 15, so now we turn to the ultimate netbusters of Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 (aka Pro Evo 2015, PES 15 or unfairly ‘The Other Game’). We’ve got vicious volleys, audacious lobs, overhead kicks so good they’ll make you feel a bit cross and, ultimately, 10 very disappointed goalkeepers. As always, let us know which goal ranks as your number one and do tell us if we’ve missed any absolute classics. Now, set mouths to open and prepare to be dazzled...
1. An Absolute Clásico
Fierce Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona kick off to do battle in what's sure to be an epic, tightly fought El Clásico exhibition match… Oh, Neymar's scored after 12 seconds. The ball is lofted up the left wing straight from the centre circle, where the 22-year-old Barcelona number 11 and Brazil's captain sprints past the defender and waits for one bounce before lobbing the keeper from near-enough the corner flag. The packed virtual crowd goes wild, at a time when the majority of an actual crowd would still be in the queue to buy a lovely chorizo pie.
2. A Bale Bomb
An absolute smasher from Welsh wonder Gareth Bale. The Real Madrid striker picks it up on the right wing at 50 seconds into this compilation, powers past Juventus's Asamoah, and unleashes a monster left footer from all of 40 yards. Unfortunately the uploader, AGameturk, decides this is the exact moment to unleash something of his own: a charming strobe effect - but even this can't spoil the majesty of the strike, as the ball smashes off the underside of the crossbar (is there anything more pleasing?) and dances into the net.
3. Ronaldo, of course
No greatest goals list would be complete without a strike from arguably the world's best player. Check in at 39 seconds to see the brilliant play in its full cinematic glory, where the Real Madrid number 7 looms into view (opposition: "Oh dear") and slices the ball nonchalantly past the keeper with one touch into the bottom right corner. Simple, yet beautiful.
4. And on, and on, and on…
We don't know what Wayne Rooney had for breakfast on the morning of this match, but we want some. In his England number 10 shirt, the red-booted Wazza jinks past not one, two, three or four, but five opposing players like a ballerina running for the last train, before dinking it over the oncoming keeper with the cutest of lobs. If only the real Wayne could have done that at the World Cup, rather than head it onto the crossbar from half a yard. Oh well.
5. Here's that bicycle kick you ordered...
Another perennial of any goal of the season awards: the bicycle kick. This one comes courtesy of the Flying Dutchman, Mr Robin Van Persie, who goes steaming towards the box, while Mata, Di Maria and Rooney work their magic to get the ball crossed in from the byline, arriving just in time to turn himself upside down and smash the ball into the "Man Blue" net. The commentator even musters enough energy to call it "good technique". As the uploader of the video says in his tagline, "That's how you put the old sphere into the potato sack". We couldn't agree more.
6. "Jorginho Crazy Volley Goal"
Exactly what it says on the proverbial tin, really. The ball's thrown in from the right, towards Napoli's number 8 Jorginho, standing about 30 yards out and still very much to the right of the pitch, who does one of those things you tried a million times in the playground: he tees the ball up with his one foot and then hits it on the volley with the other. Every time you attempted this you hoofed the ball right into the top of a tree, yet he lobs the keeper for a breathtaking goal. Life just ain't fair.
7. The lob to end all lobs
Only 408 views at time of writing? Despite the video being in slow motion and the appalling soundtrack, that view count is still a crime. On the three-second mark you're thinking 'here we go, another 40-yard volley, yawn. YAWN!" but then the ball hits an opposing player, spinning off to the left side of the pitch, where a man in red awaits. He has absolutely no earthly business doing what he does when the ball finally arrives at his feet. Not only does he shoot from 30 yards out, he shoots 30 yards up! Into the sky! And the ball actually lands on the goal line before going in. Remarkable.
8. Bale strikes again
Because you can't not include a video called "Gareth Bale INSANE 40 Yard Goal". Yes, he's on the list already, but when you have clubs trying to buy you for £120m you get special treatment. From a position near the halfway line, where most of us would struggle to reach the goal even if we took two kicks, the Welshman thumps the ball in a way that, in reality, would cause it to pop. It then bullets its inevitable path over the keeper into the corner of the poor old net. We hope they're paying him well.
9. The cheek of it!
This compilation is packed full of wonderful goals, with probably the best being the one right at the end of the video, where a certain man from Portugal with a number 7 shirt scores from the halfway line. But we haven't picked that one, because he's already on this list twice (wouldn't want him to get big headed when he reads this). So instead, we've picked the very first one, where Luka Modrić executes a very fancy strike indeed. Check out the replay from 26 seconds to see what we mean. Actually the next one's not bad either. Oh, just watch them all.
10. That Ronaldo guy again…
Well, I mean, this is just… well it's just silly, isn't it. Who scissor kicks it from OUTSIDE the box? Into the BOTTOM corner? Go home, Cristiano, we’re done here…
