Red Bull Media House's new partnership with Intel meant that real-time performance data was captured, which helped judges, commentators, riders and fans better appreciate the breathtaking feats of the night.
Intel's small, low power, almost weightless tracking device was mounted to each of the 12 participating bikes. The data collected in real-time was shared so that viewers watching on Red Bull TV from their smart phones, tablets or mobile devices could also click pull down menus to access data highlights from every run of every rider.
Used during training, the extra data also helped the riders perfect their moves before the competition.
Red Bull X-Fighters thrives on innovation: fans expect to see new tricks and bold moves that push the sport in exciting new directions, and this is the latest evolution for an event series that continues to push itself to the edge.
