Alongside Call of Duty, EA’s Battlefield is one of gaming’s biggest franchises. Yearly instalments in the first person shooter series up the action even more every 12 months – and Battlefield 4 is no exception. You’re treated to a range of vast open maps on which to duke it out against your enemies and you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to the vehicles: from fighter jets to helicopters, tanks, quad bikes and more, there’s plenty to choose from when crushing your foes. Join us as we take a look at some of the finest stunts that the world of DICE’s Battlefield 4 has to offer, from tank jumping to RendeZooks – and we’ll teach you how to do the same.

Destructive aeroplane acrobatics

Now this is how you pilot an F-35 fighter jet: YouTube gamer Russkhof makes the most of his aerial acrobatic skills, taking to the skies and then leaping out of the cockpit in mid-air to then nail a rocket at an enemy vehicle – all before landing back into into his jet, which has descended unmanned in the nick of time. This manuever, known as a RendeZook, not only looks impressive, but it means you’ll be able to take on persuing enemies with style – if you’re looking for the closest thing to an IRL equivalent, check out Red Bull Air Race star Kirby Chambliss’s Texas chase. If you want to do the same in Battlefield 4, keep your eyes on the prize, line up your jet just right and eject at the perfect moment to ensure you land back in your cockpit – and make sure you take the shot in mid-air. Timing is everything.

Easy does it

Red Bull aviation legend Chuck Aaron is known for his unsurpassed helicopter handling skills – but we wonder if even his steady hand could guide a chopper through the streets of Shanghai, like in Khan Saab’s YouTube video above. Pilot Jaeger steers his AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter through the tight, weaving streets with buttery-smooth ease, circling around high-rise buildings like they’re mere holograms and even swooping through a parking garage. If you want to do this, you’ll need plenty of practice, nerves of steel and a steady thumb to guide your helicopter through the tightest spaces the city has to offer, as one wrong move could end in disaster.

Jet blasting

While you wait for this weekend’s Red Bull Air Race in Croatia, satisfy your high-octane cravings with a jet blast from YouTube gamer irontjunfisk, as he blasts around in his own fighter jet. See him fit his SU-50 plane through wincingly-narrow gaps in China’s Golmud Railway, before flying upside down and blasting through the trees. Irontjunfisk proves it’s all in the approach and committing to your maneuvers, so plan your route and hit the banks just right, and you’ll be flying with the best of them in no time at all.

C4 and dirt bikes

YouTube gamer Wintergore is back with some Battlefield 4 madness, this time swapping the epic Titans for dirt bikes in the desert, just like Red Bull star, Cyril Despres. While it might look like a scene straight from the Dakar Rally, the jets and tanks should give away that this is Battlefield 4 through and through. Linking up with your friends on dirt bikes is one of the best ways to take on your foes – and look good doing it too. Wintergore has come up with one of the most devious ways to take out enemy tanks on the Silk Road map from the China Rising expansion, teaming up, arming your pal’s dirt bike with C4 and charging into enemy territory.

Peek-a-boo

In what has to be one of the most hilarious and epic ways to take out an enemy jet, ponylionHD shows us there’s more to a tank than meets the eye. Get together with your friends, strap a shed-load of C4 underneath your tank and get another pal to lure in an enemy jet with their own plane. Here comes the good part: once you’ve timed it just right, detonate your C4 and watch as your tank soars into the air – and if you’re the lucky tank pilot, wait for the enemy plane to glide up underneath and fire away to take it out. Simply outstanding.

Shoot some hoops like Jordan

Blink and you’ll miss this incredible clip: YouTube gamer Scarmys drops prone in Hainan Resort and shoots a basketball with his assault rifle – and what happens next is Michael Jordan-worthy. Watch it pop off the ground and straight through a far-away hoop for the ultimate three pointer – nothing but net here, folks.
