5 of the Best Arab YouTubers to Watch this Ramadan
Tired of the same old, same old dramas and comedies on satellite TV that star the same celebrities? We’ve got you covered.
As with every Ramadan, satellite channels battle it out to win the rights of TV productions, including dramas, comedies and prank shows. But let’s face it; there’s only so much more of Ramez Galal we can take to be honest.
So we’ve shifted our focus online for something a little different.
With YouTube now firmly behind supporting local talent, we’re beginning to see a lot more regional content being produced. And judging by the number of views and subscribers, this content is definitely in demand.
We took a look 15 popular Arab YouTube channels to narrow it down to the five you should check out this Ramadan. Here they are (in no particular order):
TAIM SHOW
The first thing that stands out about Taim Al Falasi is her infectious laugh. The bubbly Emirati personality is the woman behind Taim Show, a channel that has around half a million subscribers at the time of publishing.
Here, she hosts a number of social media personalities and other friends – one of her recent episodes included an interview with popular Emirati Instastar Abdullaziz Baz AKA Bin Baz – in her living room, kitchen and lounge area. Herself and her guests chit chat over some great food, playing some games and pranks on each other along the way.
NOOR STARS
Reaching nearly 4 million subscribers is Noor Stars, a 20-year-old vlogger, who’s currently studying for a degree in business administration.
Based in the United States, Noor – originally from the UAE – creates different styles of video, mainly focusing on comedy for her legion of young fans.
FAHAD SAL
This Saudi Arabian vlogger pokes fun at everyday situations in the Arab world. We particularly like the video above, that pokes fun at the different types of people who break fast during Ramadan.
DRAMA QUEEN – ASRAR
With over half a million subscribers, Asrar – better known – better known by her moniker, Drama Queen – creates videos on everything from beauty to cooking.
According to the YouTuber, her videos are “educational and entertaining. I also do some challenges and pranks.”
If you’re stuck for ideas of things to do during Ramadan, then look no further than this Saudi vlogger’s channel. We’re going to attempt to try making her unicorn cheesecake in the video above.
HAYLA TV
And finally, Hayla Ghazal is a comedian in the making. The 21-year-old filmmaker, who resides in Dubai, posts funny videos about life as a young Arab girl, such as finding the ‘one’, feeling under pressure to get married...etc.
Through comedy, I hope to highlight and change some of the habits that still exist in our society today
When not writing and filming, Hayla is busy running her bridal and evening gown shop, Hayla Couture.
