Growing up in Ramsau, Germany, with a view of the 2,713m Watzmann massif, the mountains were not only Anton 'Toni' Palzer's home and source of strength, but also his big playground from an early age.
Toni saw the mountains as a challenge, he wanted to climb them as quickly as possible, whether on foot or on his skis and the steeper the better. And for more than a decade he did exactly this, becoming part of an elite group of endurance athletes who conquered the mountains in all weather conditions. He earned a reputation as one of the very best ski mountaineers in the world and also found international success as a mountain runner.
