Sebastian König was so infatuated with the German hip-hop scene of the late 1990s that a few years later he started making his own beats and finessing his scratching and DJ skills. His early obsession paid off handsomely. By 2005 he was DJing full-time under the name ESKEI83, and the rest is history.
He's since won a range of top DJ competitions and in 2014 triumphed at the world's most prestigious DJ event, the Red Bull 3Style World Finals, in Baku, Azerbaijan. ESKEI83 is a much sought-after DJ these days, performing all over the world, alone and with his crew Drunken Masters. He also runs his own label, Crispy Crust Records.
ESKEI83 knows exactly what's up when it comes to working the decks, so we decided to take advantage of this DJ know-how. We collared the German ace for a one-on-one DJ lesson earlier this year at the Red Bull 3Style World Finals in Kraków, Poland.
