Returning once again is the cavalcade of chaos wedged between some tape that we call The Wildmen. The brief was as straightforward as ever: assemble our best clips from a year of documenting UCI MTB World Cup racing and smash them all together for your viewing pleasure.
The result? Welcome to The Best of the Wildmen 2017:
3 min"The Best of the Wildmen 2017"The ultimate downhill-racing showcase from a hectic year between the tapes.
In both the elite women's and men's title races we were treated to what must surely be classed as vintage drama. France's Myriam Nicole clinched her first overall crown, while the American Aaron Gwin had to win all four of the final points-paying sessions of the year to scoop his title.
Perhaps the best news for DH race fans however is just how tight things are continuing to get on the very top tier of both overall battles. Gwin's dice with Greg Minnaar was by no means the only game in town with breakthrough artists like Jack Moir and regular favourites like Loïc Bruni still very much in contention.
Perennial title favourite Rachel Atherton may have been missing for the majority of 2017 but the battle raged in her absence proving that the gap is narrowing all the time.
So who'll come out of the long, cold (well, for the European racers anyway) months of the off-season to get the wildest and take top honours in 2018? Stay tuned to the site for all the build up as and when it happens.
