A lone bomb© Brian Bielmann
Ian Walsh's big wave event, the Red Bull Jaws, requires 30-50 foot faces. And with the waiting period having well and truly begun, all eyes are on Maui's Pe'ahi to see whether she will sing to Ian's tune. With an approaching swell spotted last week, the 21 invitees to the paddle-only event felt their pulses quicken. But, the swell didn't deliver, and fell just short.
But that doesn't mean that the crew weren't all over it. They're on call, they have their equipment dialed, and they're all looking for any excuse to scratch into the biggest Jaws bomb they can. So when the swell did roll in and Jaws turned on, Ian Walsh led a crew that included Jamie O'Brien and Kai Lenny into the lineup to throw down. Here's some moments from the session.
