Formula One is going back to the country of the sport’s origin for the eighth race of the 2017-18 season. France is the where the first 'Grand Prix de l'Automobile Club' took place back in 1906, but this time around the action will be happening away from the public roads of Le Mans and instead at the Circuit Paul Ricard – also known as Le Castellet – near Marseille. The last time France stage a grand prix was in 2008, when Brazilian driver Felipe Massa stormed to victory at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in Magny-Cours. But Le Castellet hasn't hosted Formula One since 1990, when British racer Nigel Mansell won the event. The French Grand Prix mightn’t have taken place for a decade, but the event is still steeped in Formula One folklore, so expect a lot of fervent fans and high-speed thrills at Le Castellet’s 5.861km track.
