August ‘Agge’ Rosenmeier’s first competitive FIFA experience was undeniably unique. After thrashing his brother and friends repeatedly, Agge was encouraged to participate in a championship in Copenhagen. Strangely, the tournament was being run on PC, with many players actually choosing to play with a keyboard. With all his experience playing on a console, Agge asked to use a controller – but there was a problem. The controller was improperly calibrated and whenever Agge had possession of the ball his players would move in the wrong direction back towards his own goal. As a new kid in his first tournament Agge was too shy to complain.
He won that match 11-0.

That single victory more or less set the tone for his entire competitive FIFA career and in the intervening 10 years he’s gone from an unknown to a star player for Paris-Saint Germain. In that time the prestige that comes from playing FIFA has shot up too, if the investment from major football clubs wasn’t evidence enough.
In our video interview with Agge he talks about how he has been surrounded by football his whole life and how it was natural that all his years of playing it for real would lead him towards the digital game too. He brings the same intensity to the football pitch playing for his local team B.1908 as he does when representing PSG on stage with (fully-functioning) controller in hand.
His family and friends weigh in on his FIFA career too. They reminisce on those sessions dismantling anyone who would dare challenge Agge on his brother’s PlayStation and how they would kickstart the most incredible journey. They praise his commitment and dedication, which have been able to help him achieve anything he’s put his mind too. They all knew he could be one of the most successful players in the world.
For Agge, that’s one goal, but it’s not the most important one. Tournament success is one thing, but to be remembered as a fair player and a good person – that’s what counts.
