After 21 movies, the Avengers series is about to come to an end. Thanos, Thor, Iron Man, Captain Marvel and the rest of the team are about to finish the series off with another mammoth of a movie. Fortnite, notorious for being a community instead of “just” a game, constantly evolving with new content, have released a patch to mark the première of Avengers: Endgame.
Last year Epic Games made a patch when Avengers: Infinity War was released. The AIW LTM's objective was that the playable character Thanos (which was randomly selected amongst the players), wearing the Infinity Gauntlet, would survive against the rest of the players. If Thanos was killed, he dropped the Infinity Gauntlet and another player could pick it up and become Thanos, until only Thanos and another player remained, in which the victor was the last man standing.
Fortnite Endgame LTM takes the involvement to another level. Instead of pitting Thanos against everyone else, where the Infinity Gauntlet was the prize, this year´s version focuses on team against team. In Fortnite Endgame, the teams are battling it out over the Infinity Stones instead. The LTM features two teams: the hero team, and the villain team. The hero team’s objective is to defeat the Chitauri (villain team) that accompany Thanos and, you guessed it, Thanos himself. The villain team are all about the snatching of the six Infinity Stones that are scattered around the map.
The concept of the game sounds incredibly fun already. But another layer has been put into the game to make it even more enjoyable: the enhancement of the teams resulted by items and the Infinity Stones. The hero team starts off with a map that’ll guide them to a powerful Avengers item, such as Thor’s hammer, or Captain America’s shield. The rest of the Avengers items are scattered around the map in chests. The villain team will get their share of the cake as well, growing more powerful for every Infinity Stone collected. These are the buffs the Stones provide:
• Reality Stone (Red) = Heath & Shields doubled (1000->2000)
And guess what, the first Chitauri to get an Infinity Stone gets to be Thanos. Imagine the rush to the Stones! The winning team is the one that'll complete their objective and eliminate the opposing team. However, both teams will respawn after death until their opponents finishes their objectives. Overall, a very promising LTM that seems well elaborated, even more so than last year's event. The event also offers several cool new collectibles and skins. We hope that you are as excited to play this as we are!
