Tom Grennan recently joined an illustrious list of singers when he appeared on Chase And Status's latest single, All Goes Wrong. Others to have given their voice to songs by the all-conquering UK act include Plan B, Kano, Liam Bailey, Tinie Tempah, Giggs, Novelist and Slaves. So it's no small achievement for the 21-year-old.
But don't get the wrong idea about Grennan. He's not just a gun for hire; he's an accomplished singer-songwriter in his own right and has been long-listed in both the BBC Sound Of 2017 and MTV Brand New polls.
The debut EP by this London-born talent, Something In The Water, showcased a homegrown talent whose patois-inflected style brings to mind Jamie T, but whose songwriting chops will appeal to fans of acts as varied as Adele, Jake Bugg and The 1975. Before he blows up in 2017, listen to Grennan performing two tender-hearted tracks from his recent EP.
