From a young age, North Ireland's Rhys McClenaghan showed an affinity for gymnastics. Today, he is the first gymnast to become Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth champion on one apparatus. McClenaghan made history in 2018 by becoming the first Irish gymnast to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. That same year, he secured a bronze medal at the European Championships. But he wasn’t finished there.
His success continued with a gold medal on the pommel horse at the 2019 European Championships and another gold at the 2023 World Championships. In 2024, McClenaghan achieved his lifelong ambition by taking gold in Paris.
