What happened at Red Bull Home Ground 2024?
History was made in 2023 as UK squad Fnatic beat five other teams after three days of intense battling across a variety of maps in Tokyo. But that isn’t to say the likes of South Korean squad DRX, renowned Turkish team FUT Esports or American juggernauts Cloud9 went down without a fight.
On day one, DRX player Yu 'BuZz' Byung-chul popped off using Jett, leading to a flawless finish against SCARZ. A thrilling moment, even if DRX didn’t quite have what it took to go all the way.
Meanwhile, FUT kicked things off with a dominant 13-3 win over NA’s 100 Thieves, 2022’s Red Bull Home Ground winner.
In the final, the most adaptable roster emerged victorious with Fnatic defeating their North American rivals, Cloud9, coming back from a 2-1 backfoot to win 3-2. The final map was played on Haven and was arguably Fnatic's finest hour, as they roared to a dominant lead, finishing the round 13-5.
All in all, upsets, underdogs and unexpected victories combined to make it our most memorable Home Ground so far. [Hyperlink to Home Ground 2023 event page]
