The release date for FIFA 20 is nearing closer as the Demo has been released and now EA Sports has released the game's Ultimate Team ratings.
The top 10 players on the game is always a hotly contested topic and EA's decisions this year haven't been any less controversial. Scroll down and have a look for yourself.

1. Lionel Messi

  • FIFA 19 rating: 94

After sharing the joint-highest rating in the FIFA games with Cristiano Ronaldo for multiple years, Lionel Messi has finally broken out on his own to take sole possession of the top spot in FIFA 20.
The 94-rated Argentine has swapped to the right wing position, where he will be lethal cutting onto his left foot with 96 dribbling and 92 shooting.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo

  • FIFA 19 rating: 94
  • FIFA 20 rating: 93
While Messi did perhaps have a better season, there's a possibility that EA Sports have penalised Ronaldo for Juventus' decision to give the club's licensing rights to PES 2020.
Still, the legendary Portuguese forward will be incredible in FIFA 20 with his 90 pace and 93 shooting being the highlights of his Ultimate Team card.

3. Neymar

Neymar didn't get to play as much as he would have liked last season due to injury but he has managed to avoid any downgrades.
The tricky Brazilian will terrorise defenders with his five-star skills: 91 pace and 95 dribbling.

4. Eden Hazard

  • FIFA 19 rating: 91
  • FIFA 20 rating: 91
Eden Hazard is on the front cover after completing his big money move to Real Madrid but the Belgian superstar has remained a 91-overall player.
Still, he has moved up into the top five players in FIFA 20 and should be a treat to use just as he has been in previous FIFAs.

5. Kevin De Bruyne

  • FIFA 19 rating: 91
  • FIFA 20 rating: 91
Another player who suffered through injuries last season but has managed to keep their previous rating, Kevin De Bruyne is still one of the greatest midfielders in the world.
The Belgium and Manchester City star is the best attacking midfielder you'll find in the game at launch with 87 dribbling, 86 shooting and 92 passing.

6. Jan Oblak

  • FIFA 19 rating: 90
  • FIFA 20 rating: 91
After David De Gea's steady decline in recent months, the FIFA series has a new top goalkeeper in Atlético Madrid's Jan Oblak.
The Serbian is an extraordinary keeper and you can feel safe with his 87 diving, 89 reflexes, 92 handling and 90 positioning between the sticks.

7. Virgil van Dijk

In a move that won't have surprised many, UEFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk has moved up into the position of the best defender in the game.
The Dutchman will be absolutely solid in FIFA 20 with 90 defending and 86 physicality.

8. Mohamed Salah

  • FIFA 19 rating: 88
  • FIFA 20 rating: 90
Another Liverpool player who has broken into FIFA 20's top 10 following the club's Champions League triumph. After back-to-back Golden Boot wins, you have to say Mohamed Salah deserves to be here.
The Egyptian's Ultimate Team card appears to be incredible with 93 pace, 89 dribbling and 86 shooting. He will be extremely fun to use in-game.

9. Luka Modric

  • FIFA 19 rating: 91
  • FIFA 20 rating: 90
Luka Modric is once again among the best players in the game as the Croatian really is the complete midfielder.
The Real Madrid star's 90 dribbling and 89 passing will make him ideal for driving forward and creating chances.

10. Marc-André ter Stegen

  • FIFA 19 rating: 89
  • FIFA 20 rating: 90
Finally on this list we have another goalkeeper in Marc-André ter Stegen. The German is always working hard making up for Barcelona's defensive frailties.
His card certainly rivals Oblak with 88 diving, 90 reflexes, 85 handling, 88 positioning and, naturally as a Barcelona player, his superb distribution with 88 kicking.
