Jagger Eaton has already made a name for himself in the skateboarding community. When he was 11, he became the then-youngest X Games competitor of all time, and his career has only blown up since then. While his skill is indisputable, he also believes it’s important to stay grounded and humble — especially in the heat of competition.
“You have all the Team Managers and everybody watching you to see not only how you skate, but how you act and how you carry yourself,” he says. “They’re watching your personality and what you’re all about. If you’re real, or if you’re fake… they’re all watching that.”
01
Early beginnings
Eaton’s first time on a skateboard was in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona when he was only 4 years old. His parents bought him a skateboard for Christmas, and from the minute he stepped onto it, he was hooked. Along with his older brother, Jett Eaton, he practiced skating in his parents’ garage. Jett eventually took on a mentoring role for him, later going on to coach skateboarding himself. His three younger siblings soon followed suit, and now, the five of them are all skaters.
Coming from gymnast parents — including his father, Geoff Eaton, who founded KTR (Kids That Rip) — Eaton attributes his early success to his family. He believes that growing up in a home that enabled him to practice skating, take risks, and enjoy the learning process made all the difference.

Skateboarding breakthrough
While Eaton steadily improved after that first Christmas, his skateboarding breakthrough came when he expanded his horizons and immersed himself in skate culture. When he finally watched The DC Video, he was awestruck by shakeboarder Danny Way’s combination of mega, vert, and street skating. It was this first glimpse at the wider world of skateboarding that inspired Eaton to take his versatility to new heights.
Between watching the iconic film and studying skateboarding icons such as Andrew Reynolds and Josiah Gatlyn, Eaton was more motivated than ever to go pro. He was determined to keep honing his skills until he reached his next goal: the X Games.

X Games triumphs
In July 2012, Eaton became the then-youngest-ever competitor in the X Games. Eaton’s father had recognized his potential from an early age — by Eaton’s 11th birthday, his technique reminded his father of Tony Hawk and Shaun White. By the time the 2012 X Games rolled around, his father was encouraging him to earn a spot on the roster.
Eaton remembers his first X Games as completely surreal. He recalls the feeling of skating alongside some of his greatest idols and competing in the last X Games in a Los Angeles park. While he admits to having been nervous, he still remembers it as one of the best weekends of his life. That same year, he placed 12th at Big Air as well.
Since 2012, Eaton has made waves in many other X Games. Most impressively, he placed 1st in Street during the 2017 Minneapolis Games, 2nd in the 2018 Norway Games, and 1st in the 2022 Chiba Games. At X Games in July 2023, he came out on top with Gold in Men’s Park.

Jagger Eaton's impact on skating
When Eaton was 15 years old, he starred in his own television show, Jagger Eaton’s Mega Life. The show gave viewers insight into the unique life of a teenage professional skater and mobilized other young aspiring skaters to follow in his footsteps. In 2017, nearing the show’s end, Eaton broke the Guinness World Record for the longest 50-50 rail grind — he grinded 204 feet.
Additionally, in 2020, Eaton's performance in international competitions in Tokyo has thrusted him into the global spotlight and solidified his place as a trailblazer in the skateboarding world.

Future endeavors
Eaton remains committed to both sharpening his skills and making a lasting social impact. His desire to get the next generation into skating has driven him to partner with The Heart Supply. Launched by the family behind the Element skate brand, The Heart Supply donates a portion of its proceeds toward giving kids skateboards.
When it comes to skating, Eaton is far from out of the limelight. In fact, in 2022, he became the Park Skateboarding World Champion at that year’s WST World Championships in Sharjah, UAE. He also won 1st place in World Championships Sharjah UAE Men’s Park in February 2023. In 2024 on the world stage in Paris, Eaton came in second and became an Olympic silver medalist in the men's street skateboarding event.
