Home to J-Pop, the rich history of video game music composition and a plethora of electronic innovators, the city of Tokyo – and Japan at large – is one of the world's key musical hubs.
That's why the latest addition to the Red Bull Studios network has set up shop in the Japanese capital. Joining studios already in Copenhagen, New York, Paris, London and elsewhere, it's a project that's sure to build on the exciting roots put down in the city during Red Bull Music Academy 2014.
To celebrate the recent opening, we've put together a whirlwind visual tour of Tokyo's musical history, from innovators like electronic trio Yellow Magic Orchestra to the super-kawaii groups of today.
